Model history:
Presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 1993, the 911 type 993 advantageously succeeds the 964.
Designed by the Harm LAGAAY team, the 993 has a unique face with 959-style angled front headlights and a smoother, softer line compared to previous 911s.
Although equipped with curves more marked than the 964, the reception of the 993 during its presentation to the customers of the mark will be more than reserved.
The latest air-cooled model, the 993 inaugurates a new all-aluminum 3600cc twin-ignition flat 6.
This is now equipped with a hydraulic valve clearance adjuster to reduce maintenance costs.
This block, treated with nikasil, progresses on all points: maximum power and torque.
The new catalyst system modifies the exhaust in depth and it now has 2 outlets.
The chassis has also been extensively modified and progresses in terms of dynamics and passive safety, thanks in particular to the multi-link rear axle (LSA) which makes it possible to limit the effects of the engine in rear overhang.
Likewise, the smoother power steering is also more precise.
On the downside, the very sharp front axle is sensitive and needs to be adjusted scrupulously and regularly.

Bodywork / Exterior:
The model presented here is a June 1995 993 Carrera Cabriolet in its original "Black Metallic L744" color (matching color).
The body was restored a few years ago and on this occasion the body received a complete new paint job.
In 2017 our bodybuilder restored the left front fender and the front bonnet. A slight difference in color remains visible between these two elements and the rest of the bodywork.
After a professional polishing carried out with an orbital machine by our workshop, we noted the presence of a slight chipping of the front face (bumper, mirrors and rear stone guard), residual micro scratches, small knocks as well as a few varnish defects on the driver's door, some dust under the paint as well as some varnish defects on the two sills / sills of the door.
The bumpers are aligned and in excellent condition despite the presence of some superficial marbling at the rear as well as small scratches at the rear left exhaust pipe.
The electric soft top in “Black” mohair and “Ivory” stitching is in excellent condition as well as its Pvc mica. Its installation is easy and its sealing is in conformity with the origin. We noted the presence of a slight distension of the interior trim at the level of the front head restraints.
This copy also has its hood cover in new condition as well as its original windscreen, significantly improving driving comfort with the hood open.
The 4 original 17" Cup rims are in very good condition despite the presence of small parking scratches on the edges as well as small paint chips.
The 4 tires will be replaced before delivery with new PORSCHE approved tires.
This example has retained its original "Space Saver" spare wheel, compressor, tool kit and first aid kit.
Among the interesting exterior equipment and options with which this copy is equipped, we have noted: the electric soft top, the soft top cover, the windscreen, the 17” “Cup” rims as well as the headlight washers.

Interior:
The interior received at the request of the first owner an important set of PORSCHE Exclusive options making this example unique on the market.
All interior trim has been upholstered in "Flamenco Red QQ" leather (door panels, speaker grilles, door handles, switches, meter surrounds, dashboard cap and lip, central air vent, center console, storage CD and steering wheel). Some original elements have also been replaced by burl walnut elements (dashboard trim, door trim, steering wheel, gear lever knob and handbrake lever).
The heated and electrically adjustable leather upholstery is in very good original condition, with no trace of discoloration or tears. As often on this model, the front seats have a uniform surface patina and the driver's seat shows some traces of boarding, particularly on the outer bead of the backrest.
The leather door panels are perfectly taut and without snags with the exception of the loudspeaker grilles which show some traces of access on board.
Their burl walnut fittings have some superficial cracks. The same is true for the wooden trim on the steering wheel, the gear lever knob and the handbrake lever.
The leather dashboard is in excellent condition as well as its burl walnut trim.
All of the original VDO "Flamenco Red" on-board instrumentation with matching leather strapping is perfectly functional despite a slightly noisy clock. The original air conditioning and the GRUNDIG CD radio are no longer functional.
The leather steering wheel has a patina of usual use.
The original carpets are in good condition despite some slight discoloration and show no signs of major wear.
The "Carrera" stainless steel door sills (option X70) are in excellent condition despite a few scratches on board access.
Among the interesting options and interior equipment with which this copy is fitted, we have noted: the center console in stitched leather, the glove box cover in stitched leather, the electric window controls in leather, the door handles in embossed leather. PORSCHE", the central air vents in stitched leather, the loudspeaker grilles in leather, the door locking controls in leather, the inner doors in leather, the glove box opening control in leather, the exterior mirror controls in leather, the dashboard trim in burr walnut, the Tiptronic gear lever in burr walnut, the steering wheel in leather and burr walnut with incorporated airbag, the handbrake lever in burr walnut, the painted counters and leather strapping, leather sun visors with passenger side lighting (not functional), leather CD rack, "Carrera" stainless steel door sills, burl walnut door trim, heated seats, I on-board computer as well as the GRUNDIG CD radio (not functional).

Frame :
Putting it on the deck confirms a healthy body, with no trace of visible accident or structural corrosion.
The fundamentals: floors, side members, sills and wheel arches are in very good condition.
The flat fiber bottom has no deformation or breakage.
Reserve of use: in principle we cannot guarantee the perfection of the alignments beyond their good visual and functional condition validated during the road test and the setting on the bridge.
During the dynamic test, we did not detect any abnormal parasitic noise at the level of the body or the running gear (ball joints, silent blocks, etc.).
The braking is aligned and its efficiency meets the standards of the model. Prior to delivery, our workshop will replace the brake discs (front + rear) and their pads as well as bleed the braking system with replacement of the fluid.

Engine / Transmission:
The original mechanics work perfectly (matching number / Certificate PORSCHE France).
Prior to delivery, our workshop will carry out major maintenance on this example: engine oil change, replacement of filters, gearbox oil change, replacement of spark plugs, replacement of rocker cover gaskets, revision of the double distributor, replacement of the all the brakes (discs and pads) and bleeding the braking system.
The road test carried out by our workshop confirms a Flat 6 in very good condition.
Start-up is immediate, without smoke or suspicious noises.
The idle is stable and the oil pressure measured when cold is 4 bars at 1,000 rpm.
Once warmed up, the 6-cylinder takes its turns without jerking or overheating.
The Tiptronic automatic gearbox (option 249) ups and downs the 5 gears as originally, despite a little slowness between first and second gear.
