The 1986 Porsche 928 is a unique appearance in the brand's history, a car that represented a radical break with Porsche's traditions at the time. Designed as a luxury GT, the 928 was an ambitious attempt by Porsche to create a modern successor to the iconic 911, a model that was to combine comfort, performance and innovation. This particular example from 1986 comes from a private collection and has had a Dutch registration since 1995. The Porsche 928 is known for its advanced technology, such as the "Weissach axle" in the rear, which contributes to stable cornering, and a sleek, luxurious interior that set a new standard for what a sports car could offer at the time. What makes this example extra special is that the car is equipped with a manual transmission. That version is in high demand because only about 10 of the 928s are manual.
The car is currently in running condition, which means it is capable of getting back to those long, comfortable miles it was designed for.
The Porsche 928 was also a car praised for its long-distance handling. Unlike the more raucous driving experience of the 911, the 928 was smooth and refined, meant for comfortable high-speed cruising on European highways.
