The Alpine V6 Turbo was introduced in the mid-1980s as the more powerful evolution of the Alpine V6 GT. The car features a lightweight polyester body, a steel chassis, and a rear-mounted turbocharged engine. Its relatively low weight and turbocharged V6 engine contribute to its fast performance and distinctive driving experience.
The design is quintessentially Alpine: low, elongated, and highly streamlined, with remarkably low drag for its time. The engine is mounted in the rear, driving the rear wheels, resulting in a balanced and engaging driving experience that sets it apart from many other GT cars of the same era.
