1933 RILEY SPORTS SPECIAL (Just 4,500 miles since build)...British Racing Green with Black leather, First registered on the 4th December 1933 and issued with the Kent registration number AKO 857, This Riley Special was commissioned by a local Doctor and built by a highly regarded Vintage/Classic specialist costing in excess of £80,000, Specification includes - 1933 Riley Nine chassis shortened & modified, 1935 Riley 1496cc engine built to road/race specification by specialist and VSSC Racer Rob Cobden, Rebuilt Riley/Armstrong Siddeley pre-selector gearbox by specialist G.Whitehouse, Riley Nine Prop shaft/Front & back axles/Steering shaft/Steering rack/Steering arms/Suspension, Andre Hartford 506S shock absorbers supplied by Paul Beck, Bronze Riley brackets & back plates by Harling Foundries, Splined hubs & ½ shafts & spinners supplied by Blue Diamond Services, Riley Nine brakes rebuilt and modified to hydraulic, New aluminium Sports body built by using traditional Riley methods, new ash frame front & bulkhead, Steel tubing to rear by John Appleby of Orchard Restorations, New windscreen made using original bucks (Fold flat mechanism), All chrome work replated, Riley Enamel badges by PD Enamels, Original headlights/side lights, Stainless steel exhaust, Exhaust manifold by Rob Cobden, Engine tuned aluminium dashboard, Original instruments including chronometric rev counter & clock restored by Vintage Restorations, 4-spoke Brooklands steering wheel, Engraved gear change indicator plate in alloy, Uprated 18” 60 spoke power coated wire wheels by Specialist Richards Bros, 5 new Blockley with new inner tubes, Period style Ingleston Black leather trim by Robert Parrot of Reprotrim along with Period style Black mohair hood & mohair tonneau cover, All other parts supplied by Blue Diamond Services, Complete with provenance file including Current V5C logbook, Original old ‘buff’ logbook, Photographic evidence of build including build invoices showing the high level of workmanship, Riley Maintenance Manual, Riley Instruction book, Riley Register book, Various useful notes of maintenance of the Riley, Riley PreWar Special Registration Certificate and being VSCC eligible comes with a VSCC Eligibility Document or ‘Buff form’, Previously supplied by ourselves, This magnificent Riley Special has covered just 4,500 miles since its meticulous build – A highly desirable Pre War Sports Special.
