Description

This Rolls-Royce is a superb example of a 20/25 (aka “20/25 HP”) with a rare three-position Drop Head Coupé body by coachbuilder H.J. Mulliner. This car was ordered to the specifications of ’world's most famous Rolls-Royce dealer Jack Barclay on July 16, 1934. The chassis was delivered to H.J. Mulliner on October 11, 1934, who then built the three-position Drop Head Coupé body on it. The completed automobile was sold to J.W. Ansell of Rainham, Surrey, on Jan. 28, 1935.An extensive restoration was performed during the 1980s. After this, the 20/25 was shown at various events. This led to several awards including the Rolls-Royce of England Trophy for “the best pre-war automobile” at the national Rolls-Royce meeting in Lancaster and the Rolls-Royce Trophy for the “best in class” at the Grand Classic Show in Columbus, Ohio.In 1988, this 20/25 was imported to England and was part of an exceptional collection of automobiles. After its restoration in the 1980s, the automobile was driven little, yet regularly. The wonderful restoration was clearly of a very high standard. Thus, the paint now still has an exceptionally deep shine and the gray leather interior is in beautiful condition. This insanely beautiful 20/25 still has the original engine which is technically and optically a jewel. This is a real Rolls-Royce: starting is easy, driving smooth and quiet. The roof has three positions: it can open completely, it can open only at the front and it can close completely. The slats in the stately grille open automatically as soon as the engine warms up. The trunk lid incorporates a beautiful tool. The leather, woodwork, carpets, everything in the interior is in excellent condition. The Rolls-Royce has a Dutch registration and is in excellent condition.
