Description

1928 Rolls Royce 20HP Thrupp & Maberly Limousine.

Chassis number: GBM64

Registration Number: GC6631

This lovely example dates from 1928 and has limousine coachwork by Thrupp & Maberly with the side to side sliding glass division and occasional seats. It is in completely original condition to the interior upholstery and realistically it is just as it was when it left the factory. It was taxed throughout World War Two in Ripon and the original licence is still in the windscreen and it once entered a concours at the VSCC at Oulton Park but unfortunately never won.

It was bought over 40 years ago by the previous but one owner from the grandfather of the present proprietor of H. Horsfield & Son. It is for sale now by the current owner of 22 years whom has cherished in in excellent condition throughout and comes with its original registration number - GC 6631.

It is a lovely untouched and unmolested example of this great car - just as we like them. It is always a pleasure to get one of these with such a wealth or original detail to it. The Paint is maroon over black & very smart. Being a later production model it is 4 speed & has vertical radiator shutters.

Pleasingly a full set of small tools in their original triple trays comes with the car. A spare is fitted to the rear in a slot in bracket. A full set of under trays comes with the car although they are not currently fitted. Of particular note is the interior with hat nets, hat ropes, pull down blinds etc all intact along with cloth covered seats. The front is of course traditional black leather.

We are collecting the car shortly from its owner of over two decades in Northern Ireland & will be photographing it properly as soon as it is back to the showroom.
