1965 Rolls Royce Phantom V State Landaulette
Chassis Number: 5VD41
Registration Number: J95808
Just 9 units were produced, including 3 State Landaulettes by Park Ward (chassis 5BV7, 5CG37 & 5LCG51 to design 1000), 2 State Landaulettes by Mulliner, Park Ward (chassis 5LVD33 & 5VD41 to design 2047) and 4 Special Landaulettes by Mulliner, Park Ward (chassis 5VD83, 5LVF29, 5LVF113 & 5LVF183 to design 2052). State Landaulettes have a short hood whereas Special Landaulettes have a long hood, the former having been intended for heads of state.
Needless to say this is a very very rare & important car made all the more so by having covered just 14,987 Miles from new. Condition is of course pristine & commensurate with the mileage. The car is being sold with a full hydraulic & engine service being performed by a marque specialist once a sale is agreed.
The car is finished in a lovely bright metallic hue somewhere between Ming Blue & Seychelles blue with the paint being in wonderful condition. The Blue Mohair Landaulette top is also like new & folds back easily after releasing two catches. The interior is cream leather to the front & rear again in unworn condition. All Burr Walnut is superb extending to the cocktail cabinet with a full set of glasses & decanters in situ. Barely used whitewall tyres complete the ensemble. Twin occasional seats fold from the bulkhead allowing for 7 people to be carried in comfort.
Being an early car from 1965 the rear doors hinge from the rear allowing for easy & elegant egress from the car. Air conditioning is fitted along with rear opening quarter lights. Under the bonnet the engine bay is equally tidy & pristine to show standards. This is without doubt one of the lower mile Phantom V's or VI's in the world & has the added benefit of being the rare State Landaulette model as produced by H.J. Mulliner when the car was new.
The car drives beautifully & I have to say when ensconced in the back there are few finer ways to travel.
Viewings are by strictly by appointment at our Northampton showrooms.
