Description

A very smart and sound example, and nicely finished in the very attractive, original colour scheme of Garnet with beige leather interior. The car is all correct, very nicely presented, with correct tools, handbook, etc, and importantly, benefits form a great deal of body renovation, correctly done, and which, together with various other appropriate attention and care, has resulted in expenditure well in excess of £50,000 in recent years. All of this work is documented with invoices in the history file that accompanies the car, and has brought about a satisfyingly correct and appealing example of a very useable car, nicely capable in modern traffic conditions. Fitted with radial tyres, which add to the ease of use. Interestingly (to us at least!), the car was originally delivered to a company based in Bangor, just five miles from where we are located! The car drives very well (was driven to us) and is ready for its next life chapter. Offered serviced and MoT tested until February 2025

Snippets: Construction & Hotel
SDW59 was delivered to & used by the construction firm of Watkin Jones & Son Ltd of Bangor in North Wales. The history of the firm can be traced back 1791 when it was started by carpenter Huw Jones the business later moved into building and construction & in 1907 it provided the first stone of the new buildings at the University College in Bangor and after WWI the company began building private houses in the City of Bangor. It would seem that SDW59 was only with the firm until it was sold in 1965 to S. Portman of Valentine Hotel in Gants Hill, Ilford. After just a few months the car was acquired by E. Cole (decorators) Merchants Ltd in Chingford Mount Road, London.
