Description

1922 Rolls Royce Silver Ghost Springfield Piccadilly Roadster

Chassis number: 147JH
UK Registration Applied for.

This nut & bolt restored american built Rolls Royce Silver Ghost  Piccadilly roadster has been totally restored at vast cost. The car started out iin Life as a Picadilly roadster but was barn found in very dilapidaeted condition prior to the current restoration being undertaken.

The car was finished to match a Rolls Royce Advertisement of the period:  "Finished in Lacquer of Gendarme Blue with black fenders & body striped in white, it will instantly appeal to the owner driver.  As fitting this model, its upholstery is black leather".  The car is in as new condition & drives beautifully.

The result is a car epitomising the peak of 1920's styling whilst being in simply gorgeous condition. To the rear is a large mototing trunk.  The dickey seat folds open easily allowing for two additional passengers.  We are in the process of servicing the car & final set up is to be done in March by noted Ghost specialist Carl Ford of Carl Ford Engineering.

The car is fitted with 4 brand new tyres & also has additonal spares mounted above both running borads.  The Picadilly body was one of the most rakish & desirable in period, a style which it maintains until this day.

The convertible top is of grey mohair & is easily raised & lowered.  Under the bonnet the engine bay is to show standards with gleaming copper & brass iin abundence.  The original dash board has been retained exhibiting a wonderful patina of aged black paint.  A full quotient of period instrumentation resides in their appointed places.  Indicated mileage is 75,000.

WIth the service completed this car will be ready for extended summer motoring & continental touring.
