Description

1979 Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow II finished in Light Shell Grey over Dark Tudor Grey with St. James Red hide interior. Supplied by Mann Egerton of Nottingham to its first owner, dentist Mr A J Moore, on the 5th April 1979 registered as AJM 9. Mr Moore kept the car for only a year. It was sold to Mr John Pettifer, the MD of North Hants Tyre Co on the 23rd April 1980 having covered 10, 904 miles. Mr Pettifer owned the car for seven years covering some 28, 000 miles. In 1987 the car was bought by a florist, Mr Blundell of Ashurst. During his 7 year tenure Mr Blundell covered over 35, 000 miles in the car and spent the considerable sum of £18, 000 on its maintenance, this included fitment of a Rolls-Royce factory handling kit which consists of uprated road springs and shock absorbers. In May 1994 Mr Blundell health deteriorated and the car was sold to Mr Cort, chairman of Nias of Newbury and registered with his cherished registration number ‘2T’. Although only he travelled less than 2, 000 miles in the car during his short ownership much work was undertaken including a full bare metal re-paint in the original Shell over Tudor which was done to an extremely high standard. The last owner purchased the car in 1995 and has owned it ever since. The impressive history file offered with the car includes rafts of invoices from Rolls-Royce main agents and specialists as well as every MOT test certificate dating back to 1986. Every piece of paperwork has been kept throughout the cars life right down to its old tax discs. Completing the history file is the owner’s information folder which includes all supplements, stamped service book and drivers handbook. The condition of this Silver Shadow can only be described as truly exceptional, it is one of the most original and unmolested examples we have seen. It is clear that this car has been maintained to the highest possible standards all its life. Seldom found in this condition, this Silver Shadow must be one of the finest on the market today.
