Description

Motodrome are pleased to offer this outstanding 1970 example of the stately Rover P5b

All P5b’s, whether saloon (as this one) or Coupe, with the Rover V8 motor, automatic transmission, PAS, and decent brakes, are supremely useable in modern-day traffic

Looking very stately in it’s original colour of Burnt Grey, XHU 5H seems to have been a well-known, prize-winning car on the club scene in the late 2010’s in the hands of the owner 2005-2017, and remains in fine condition today.

Fitted with heated rear window, manual choke conversion, electronic ignition uprated radiator and a modern DAB radio with Bluetooth and hands-free capability. It’s also fitted with front headrests, and inertia reel front seat belts.

Odometer reading 83000 miles which, whilst we can’t warrant it, is likely to be correct given the history we hold, including old MOT’s back to 1978 and 52080m

We have a large history file. It seems to have had just 2 owners in the Bristol area (where is was first registered) from new until 1980 at 63000m, when it was put into dry storage.
When it emerged in 1997 having changed hands, it then underwent a 2 -year £18000.00 restoration with new JR Wadhams panelwork, interior, and rebuilt mechanicals, topped off with a repaint in the original Burnt Grey.

I’m pleased to say that successive owners have kept it in the manner to which it was accustomed, and it still presents beautifully, with superb interior and excellent chrome. Any work it’s needed thereafter has been done diligently, including a replacement gearbox in 2019

And it glides down the road as a P5b should, with nice-shifting automatic transmission and light power steering.

Whilst it’s now RFL, MOT and ULEZ exempt, I’m pleased to say successive owners have kept up the MOT history over the years, and it’s currently MOT’d to mid June 2024, with no advisories. Last serviced Jan 2024 at 82000m

I don’t think you’ll find a nicer, more sorted one on the market currently – it’s lovely in every respect.

On our own website, you’ll find our usual comprehensive video package, which, along with the extensive pictures, form part of the description.
