This beautiful Silver/Maroon livery Cobra is a REPLICA built and created to be a real compliment to Carroll Hall Shelby and his iconic MKII 289 Cobra sports car. And truly a real gift to all of us Ford high-performance car enthusiasts. This REPLICA Cobra was created to be a modified street-version model of his 289 MKII Cobras, but was built using the 289 FIA race car body. Shelby American built and modified only (5) of his slab-side 289 Cobras for the FIA racing competition. It has a pro-built Ford small block and is mated to a Tremec 5 speed transmission. All to replicate Shelby's champion FIA race winning Cobras that dominated FIA/USRRC sports car racing in the 60's. It is offered with the quick-jack racing bumpers and the classic chrome Cobra bumpers for any number of car events. This picture-perfect replica Shelby FIA Cobra has only 3,000 miles registered on its ODO, and is in near-mint condition. It runs, drives and brakes extremely well.

My favorite Cobra is Shelby's FIA 289 racing competition Cobras... and for between $12K and $15K one could easily repaint it to the period-correct Viking Blue color and add the also period-correct Jim Inglese COBRA intake manifold with the (4) 48IDA downdraft Weber carbs, the white roundels with a number, the classic 4 decals, over the front fenders Shelby Team Stripe for the perfect look and function of the SHELBY FIA 289 MKII racecar. This replica Cobra HAS the 289 MKII FIA body, the cockpit layout and the replica Halibrands. That was my plan when I bought the Cobra 5 years ago (not quite finished) but as it sat for 12/13 years hardly driven, unattended it needed too many new components as well as things needed redone. I was then in to deep... the Viking Blue paint job and the Webers were way over my budget. Being a bit of a Shelby Cobra historian and a specialty-car designer/builder (Google ROKSTOCK Capri)I thought restoring and/or redoing a Cobra, but a replica Cobra that has more value to Carroll Shelby's amazing historic history to the SHELBY COBRA as in the more important model to his entire Shelby Car history...

Truly the more authentic MKII body design of the original Shelby AC Cobra, the 289 FIA and USRRC racing Cobras were the Cobras that earned the reputation for Carroll Shelby and his Shelby Cobras. The Shelby Cobra ALSO paved the way for the 427 Cobra, the GT350 Mustang and even the GT40. As the SHELBY 289 COBRA motor (and the Cobras successful reputation) went into those GT350's and the MKI GT40. In real truth... there is no high-performance sports car quite like the Shelby Cobra. They are simply one of the most exciting cars to build, own and to drive. This replica Shelby is beyond exceptional in its construction and makes a great reimagined Shelby FIA AC Cobra automobile. As most replica Cobras offered today ARE of the 427 bodied Cobras, this FIA 289 bodied replica Cobra is RARE. The body/chassis is a Unique Motorcars unit. The motor is a pro-built 351 Windsor small block and dressed to replicate the 289 Cobra motor. About 335 to 350 BHP to also replicate the 289 COBRA motor. All of its high-end components were well-engineered together and chosen to create a Replica Cobra that Carroll Shelby would have been proud to have applied his signature approval on this gem, this, I am sure. As it's NOT a priceless original, as it would be in the Millions for its historic and monetary value. But it can be obtained for a fraction of the price of one of his (998) original Cobras. And it is NOT one of the continuation-serial-numbered CSX Cobras from Shelby American or Superformance. But it IS a good prospect and one to consider for someone who wants a Cobra that replicates the first-generation Shelby Cobras of 260/289 (slab-side) and 289 FIA racing Cobra fame. The brite silver exterior with its blood red racing stripe, the flared muscular fenders of the FIA vestige to the replica cast Halibrand wheels wrapped in sticky wide Dunlop's set the stance of this authentic-like Cobra that seems to capture the real essence of Carroll Shelby's first generation of his Cobra snakes.
