Description

The Studebaker Daytona Sports Sedan is a model from Studebaker’s final years of production, marking the end of 114 years of the brand. Production ended in South Bend, Indiana, in December 1964, after which manufacturing continued in Hamilton, Ontario. The 1966 Daytona Sports Sedan is part of the final model year and features Canadian assembly, with familiar Studebaker engines no longer available.

Due to these changes, GM powertrain technology was used in this model, making it technically distinct within Studebaker’s history while still recognizable as part of the Daytona line. Only 620 units of the 1966 Sports Sedan were built, making it a rare sight among postwar American mid-range cars. Today, few examples are known to exist, giving this car a unique place in automotive history.

This car represents a transitional period for Studebaker, combining Canadian assembly, the final model year, and limited production. It holds particular interest for collectors and enthusiasts as a symbol of the brand’s final evolution.

The vehicle is equipped with an original Chevrolet 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine (230 cubic inches) and a three-speed manual transmission with steering-wheel-mounted shifters. In 1966, front disc brakes and rear drum brakes were standard. The car remains in superb original condition and comes from a collector. The owner’s manual is included.

Imported from the United States in 2012, it is registered with the Dutch license plate AR-64-59. Its limited production and rarity enhance its value within the classic American car market.

This 1966 Studebaker Daytona Sports Sedan is a rare, Canadian-produced model with a notable engine and transmission setup. It has a Dutch registration, was imported in 2012, and includes the owner’s manual. Interested buyers are encouraged to attend the viewing day for a better impression.
