You have special, then very special, and dáár above you have the Talbot Lago T26 by Carrosserie Worblaufen, F. Ramseier & Co., ééone of Switzerland's most esteemed coachbuilders. This coachbuilder built cars based on Alfa Romeo, Bugatti, Isotta Fraschini and thus also Talbot Lago. A very exclusive "voiture" therefore, of which only three were built. Now the Talbot Lago T26 is already a very special vehicle with some 750 built, in 1947 only 155 were built. With this bodywork, three makes it an almost unique appearance. The "normal" T26 was presented in 1946, making it the first post-war model. Under the hood a magnificent six-cylinder, 4.5 liter in size, taken directly from the Grand Prix car of the time, although there the power source was a bit stronger with 280 hp. The generous engine was about 190 horsepower and was mated to a Wilson preselector four-speed transmission. Lockheed hydraulic drum brakes and knock-off wire wheels are just some of the T26's special features. The T26 was ééone of the fastest luxury cars available at the time.In every way, this Talbot Lago T26 Record by Worblaufen was the absolute best of what was available at the time. No less than 1600 hours went into the construction of één Worblaufen T26, and that's not counting things like the chassis, engine and other items that were "carried over" from the normal T26 Record. This T26 was delivered new in 1947 to its first owner in Zürich, a doctor. He enjoyed his special convertible for decades, until the exclusive car went to its second owner in the 1960s. It wasn't until 2003 that the Talbot Lago left Switzerland. It is during this period that the car is restored to unprecedented class by an exceptionally good restorer from the Netherlands. So much so that a few years later the car participates in the prestigious concours of Pebble Beach, among others. The car comes with a document with very detailed history, including about 100 restoration photos but also photos from earlier times. Some cars are especially beautiful from a certain angle but that does not apply to this Talbot Lago. Viewed from every angle, the car is elegant, stylish and beautifully lined. Simply art on wheels. And then consider for a moment that the car is an even greater beauty in reality than in the pictures. With its beautiful teardrop-shaped fenders, a stunning grille with high-set Talbot Lago emblem. Also, of course, a beautiful "split-window" and a very nice line of side windows. From the interior, Worblaufen has done a lot of work. Beautiful leather, gorgeous carpets and of course a beautiful design of the dashboard. The centrally located gauges and the partially body-color finished dashboard really look fantastic. Truly everything you see is in excellent condition and that also applies to the parts you do not see.A unique car, which will not only bring an unprecedented amount of pleasure while driving but also while looking at all the beautiful parts, to the beautiful line and brilliant finish.
