Complete frame off restoration made by an experienced team of devoted and skilled restoration experts from Colombia, Venezuela, and the complete restoration is monitored during entire process by an experienced American restoration expert.
The complete frame off restoration started with a running vehicle found in central Colombia.
This FJ 40 has rear metal cabin, with rear ambulance style doors (dual swing out doors). Metal body with removable fiberglass roof.
The restoration process included stripping chassis and body down to the bare metal, and all mechanical parts disassembled and applicable parts were sandblasted.
Chassis, body, engine and transmission parts, springs, and axles were applied e- coat. Metal work was carried out on fenders and floor. All doors- driver´s, passenger and rear doors- were refinished. All bolts, screws, knobs, brackets, etc are either new or reffited and galvanized (50 kilos). Emblems, wiring harnesses, lights etc. are brand new
All body panels were sandblasted. Any rust was removed. Hundreds of hours and a thorough detailed job was put into this Land Cruiser. The top and front grille's top coat was also done with PPG "Deltron Series." The rims powder coated to gray finish. This is a complete frame off restoration beautifully done by a team of passionate people that worked day and night.
Drivetrain, suspension, engine and interior as well as every bolt and nut were restored to the original Gold Zinc finish. The frame was disassembled, sandblasted and
repainted with "AUE" 2 part epoxy gloss black paint.
STEERING: Factory restored power steering. All the systems were completely disassembled. The factory Hydraulic pump was serviced. New hoses were installed. Bars, terminals were serviced. Grease fittings added.
SUSPENSION: adjustable suspension. Spring leaf fittings were disassembled and refitted. New bushings, rubber seals, grease fittings, and clamps were added.
DIFFERENTIALS: front and rear differential was adjusted. retainers, hoses,
were changed. Bearings were serviced since they were in excellent condition. New
U- joints. All components greased and checked.
BRAKE JOB: new kit was placed on the clamps- new seal, dust shield, hoses, lines, springs, bands, cylinders, and brake shoes.
A more modern emergency brake was added.
TRANSMISSION: was completely disassembled. Bearings were checked. New gaskets were installed. 4x4 bronze synchronizers were replaced. Clutch was serviced. It was in good condition.
CARBURATOR: rebuilt
ENGINE: was disassembled. Compression is excellent. New gaskets were installed. Lubrication is new.
COOLING SYSTEM: a brand new radiator was installed. Water pump replaced. Original cover. New hoses and water plugs.
EXHAUST SYSTEM: New stainless steel exhaust system with new radiator.
ELECTRIC SYSTEM: The electrical system has been fully restored with new wiring
TIRES: The vehicle was lifted to accommodate the new Yokohama mud terrain tires (285-75 R16)
BODY: removed and media blasted. Body repaired with full metal replacement as needed
GLASS: All glass in vehicle has been replaced with factory spec glass and moldings
PAINT: body, fender, rims painted in HEATH GRAY. All correct paint finish, with 3- step polish and clear coat.
INTERIOR: Total interior rebuilt. New safety belts with custom factory inspired seats covered in ox blood color vinyl.
DASHBOARD: completely refurbished. Interior restoration includes all new factory original spec dashboard buttons and gauges, along with a new factory spec speedometer with a factory correct
steering wheel matching year and model.
Modern amenities include 90% of mechanical parts with e coating as well as two jacks fitted in hood and roll bar.
