History
In early 1986, the third generation of the Supra was introduced. The Celica and Supra model lines were separated starting in 1986. The version with a turbo engine and 235 hp appeared as early as autumn 1987. In August 1988, the first facelift took place at the front and rear (three-piece rear wing). The Supra was sold as a coupé and as a targa and did not need to hide from its competition. In the late '80s/early '90s, high-performance sports cars were in vogue, and Japan contributed attractive, high-performance, full-featured, and affordable competitors to the boom.
The Toyota Supra Turbo was characterized by its design: an almost endless bonnet with two automatic folding headlights, a discreet rear spoiler, very contemporary rear lights and elegant aluminum rims. Count Görtz could not have drawn it any better. The beefy 3 liter engine with turbocharger and 235 horses and connection as a 5-speed manual version was good for a top speed of over 240 km/h. At the time, that was something to be proud of. The chassis is up to any challenge, the brakes and their effect very decent.

The Toyota Supra Targa offered here was first delivered by Toyota Prüser in Möchengladbach / Germany in February 1988. In 2005 this Targa was sold to Duisburg and in 2013 to its last owner in Krefeld. Many Supras from this period were tinkered with by their previous owners. All previous owners were able to resist this temptation, so this Toyota has remained in its original condition to this day. It has been repainted in the course of time but - as far as can be seen - has been spared a serious accident.
Everything looks very neat, the paintwork is without complaint, the interior is in very good condition, the Toyota has just received a large extended technical inspection from the classic car specialist Großmann in Lohmar, including a timing belt change for over €7,000. In addition, there is an extensive folder with all the service work carried out, as well as a service book and original brochure. Drive off and enjoy with a fantastic sports car that really doesn't show its age.
