The TVR White Elephant....
Recently purchased by Shmoo Automotive Ltd, the famous prototype was made for Peter Wheeler back in 1988.
In 2004, after many years of chasing after it, the car was bought directly from Peter Wheeler (..the week before he sold the company) and rescued and restored by Howard Bryan.
Howard and I have known each other for a fair few years and since 2022 we've been dancing around the idea of him parting with the car. Well, two years later, and after 20 years of ownership, which saw him and a whole team of Ex-TVR employees restore the car, he's let Nelly go.
Fitted with a pre-production prototype SS Group A SV engine and the first TVR to be fitted with a T5 box.
In the 36 years since it was built, the car has never been on the open market. In the short to medium term that's not going to change, I have a few plans for the car first, but I thought you'd like to see a nice set of photos, and a couple of videos of the car as of August 2024.
There are many articles and magazine features about this car, some of you will know the story, and some of you will be hearing it for the first time.
Here's one of the articles, should you like to know a bit more....https://www.classiccarsmagazine.co.uk/blog/features/driven-tvr-white-elephant/
..and another link...https://www.lancasterinsurance.co.uk/news/2021/march/1/car-of-the-month-howard-bryan-s-tvr-white-elephant/
Over the next month or so I'll do my best to piece together a history, and a photo set showing the car's life with Peter and Howard.
In the meantime, enjoy the photos.
