The Volkswagen Golf 1 GTI Pirelli is a special edition from 1983, many people think this is the most beautiful version of the Golf 1 GTI ever built. Production was from May 1983 to October 1983, during which 26,000 “Pirelli”copies came off the line.There were twéé types of the Golf GTI Pirelli released by Volkswagen, called the “W64” and “W65” (this is the option code that is on your invoice and sticker in the trunk/instruction book) and the difference is in a number of options as seen in the table below. The W65 had co-molded bumpers, our Gti belongs to the W64 series with the original un-molded bumpers.
