1973 Volkswagen Thing Suncruiser Edition

Gateway Classic Cars of Scottsdale is pleased to present for sale, on consignment, this quirky but cool, 1973 Volkswagen Thing. The Type 181 is known as the Kurierwagen in Germany, a Trekker in the United Kingdom, the Thing in the United States (1973-74), the Safari in Mexico and South America, and Pescaccia in Italy. This 2 wheel drive, 4 door convertible has removable doors, a folding windshield and drain holes in the floor so you could spray it out with a hose.
Power is provided by a 1600cc flat four engine, single carburetor with a 4 speed manual transmission. A roll bar, canvas top, vinyl windows, seat belts and cloth interior round out the features on this minimalistic Volkswagen, everything you need and nothing you don't. The white paint is in good shape as well as the cool plaid interior.
Our sales staff is excited to hear from you and go over the details on how to obtain this Thing for your collection.
