Without a doubt, this Land Rover Series II is an icon in the world of classic cars. This legendary off-road vehicle is the predecessor of the current Land Rover Defender. This Land Rover Series II was originally delivered in Switzerland to the Swiss roadside assistance in 1969. The car arrived in the Netherlands in 1999 and has since undergone a thorough restoration. The last owner has owned the car since 2008, and this Land Rover has always been maintained with great love and care. This is evident not only in the car itself but also in the various invoices that accompany the car. The car recently underwent a major service (an invoice for almost €6,000.00 is available).
During the restoration, the car was spray-painted in a perfectly matching dark green, and the original hardtop was resprayed in its original cream white. The result is a beautiful color combination, and the car is still in very good condition. Some body panels show some signs of age, but these are minimal. The body panels fit together well, and the doors close smoothly and securely. The various rubber parts and trims are also in good condition. This is one of the last Land Rover Series II models with the headlights on the inside, which makes this car extra special.
The interior is also in very good condition. This car has three front seats, which are in excellent condition and comfortable. The dashboard is in good condition, and all instruments function properly. The cargo area has two folding rear seats, which are also in excellent condition. The car is also equipped with a Smiths heater for extra comfort during colder periods.
Under the hood lies a very well-maintained engine that runs beautifully and smoothly. It's clear that no expense has been spared on maintenance. The car drives and shifts exceptionally well, and the steering is also exceptionally good and smooth. The car brakes firmly and effectively. We haven't often come across such a well-driving Land Rover Series II.
