Description

The Car
Originally manufactured at Land Rover’s Solihull factory, this 1995 Defender 90 300 TDI has benefitted from a meticulous, high-quality restoration and mechanical overhaul. Completed with a focus on authenticity, durability, and long-term reliability, this example is now exceptionally well prepared for continued use both on and off-road.

Bodywork & Exterior

Professionally repainted to a high standard in factory-correct single-stage acrylic enamel paint, with fresh black detailing and a refinished original rear crossmember completing the exterior. The rugged appearance is enhanced by Land Rover Sawtooth Style 7×16 alloy wheels, new rear cappings, a rear corner protection kit in silver, a refurbished spare wheel holder, and new wing vent grilles. Numerous seals, fittings, and window channels were replaced to ensure a robust and weatherproof finish.

Interior

The interior has been comprehensively refreshed with a new R380 moulded matting system, a new dark grey rear Land Rover door card, and a high-top Chubby Cubby Box in grey vinyl. The dash top and lower dash edge fascia were retrimmed, alongside a full headlining restoration, including the rear section.
Upholstery in Denim Twill has been retrimmed, along with new seat foams and bases, revitalising the original front seats. OEM genuine rear rubber matting and two two-man rear bench seats retain the authentic cabin layout.

Mechanical Overhaul

Mechanically, the Defender has been prepared to an outstanding standard. Key works include:

Rebuilt steering box
Heavy-duty steering rods and new Bilstein steering damper
New 36-spline steering wheel
New timing belt kit
Rebuilt fuel pump
New auxiliary belt tensioner and alternator belt
Upgraded water pump
New viscous fan coupling
New Bosch battery
Refreshed engine seals and gaskets, including the crankshaft front oil seal
Suspension, Brakes & Underbody

The suspension and braking systems were comprehensively addressed with:

New rear shock absorbers
New Metalastic and Polybush radius arm bushes
New panhard rod bushes
A full underbody wash, repaint, and protective treatment ensure the underside is both clean and durable.

Electrical & Finishing Details

A wide range of new parts were fitted to ensure reliability and an authentic finish, including:

New rubber seals and window channels
Refurbished wiper system with a new Series 3/90/110 wiper motor, blades, and washer jets
Numerous new switches, clips, pedals, bulkhead vent hinges, bonnet seals, and courtesy light switches
Supporting this extensive work is a detailed file of invoices and records documenting the quality and attention to detail invested throughout the restoration.

Summary

Offered here is a superbly restored and mechanically overhauled 1995 Land Rover Defender 90 300 TDI. With extensive preparation, thoughtful upgrades, and a fully documented restoration history, this example presents a rare opportunity to acquire a highly capable, authentic Defender, ready for many more years of enjoyment.
