Description

This Land Rover Santana Series III 109” is anything but an ordinary classic. Originally delivered in Spain in October 1980, it has since been fully restored and electrified in the Netherlands. An icon of the off-road world – now powered by silent strength.

Under the bonnet, there’s no traditional diesel engine, but a water-cooled 90 kW electric motor, powered by a 66 kWh battery pack of Mercedes origin. The drivetrain stays true to its roots: a manual 4-speed gearbox and permanent four-wheel drive with high and low range gearing.

The body was completely rebuilt and refinished in a deep blue paint, contrasted by a Limestone roof and rear panels.
The interior has been reupholstered in brown vinyl. Original Veglia Bressel gauges, sliding windows, and a three-spoke steering wheel remain. Roof ventilation, rear mud flaps, tow bar, and convenient USB-C & USB ports are all present. 16-inch Limestone steel wheels are fitted with Goodyear Wrangler MT/R tires.

This Santana underwent a full body-off restoration. Every detail was addressed: the chassis was blasted and treated, body panels renewed, the electrical system converted to 12V, and new window seals, switches, gauges, upholstery, and more installed. Both gearbox and drivetrain were fully overhauled. Original parts were preserved wherever possible.

The most recent maintenance was carried out in June 2025, during which the car was fully inspected and approved.

This Land Rover Santana Series III is nostalgia with a plug. No emissions, no smoke – just stunned looks from passers-by.
Classic has never been this quiet. Or this cool.
