Description

This 1983 Range Rover Classic has been in current ownership for over 20 years. Supplied new to the Arley Estate in November 1983 and finished in striking Nevada Gold when ordered, it was specified with the premium Option Pack A, electric windows were also fitted along with Wood and Pickett lamp guards. It has always been the intention of the present owner to preserve and maintain the car as much as possible in its original factory specification and so apart from adding a full stainless steel exhaust and manifold system and the replacement of the standard air filtration to K&N’s this is how the car is presented. The original air filter system has been stored in case it was ever desired to retro fit.
This vehicle was one of the first to be fitted with the LT77 5 speed gearbox that replaced the previous, shall we say rather agricultural 4 speed unit. It also has the original sought after contoured velvet interior (more affectionately known as the Teddy Bear interior) and overall the interior of the vehicle presents exceptionally well preserved apart from some slight wear to the carpet covering on the rear wheel arches (as shown in the photographs). The vehicle has been well maintained throughout its life with many receipts for parts and work done. It has recently received new brake discs, pads and calipers along with a full service. Additionally a Lanogaurd treatment to the underbody and chassis has just been undertaken. This treatment has been carried out annually by the owner, previously with Dinitrol and in more recent years by Lanogaurd.
The bodywork is in superb condition apart from some bubbling to the base of the nearside passenger doors and some surface corrosion around the fuel filler cap area (as shown in the photographs) if being really critical there is also some signs of lacquer peeling on the roof but no corrosion.
The vehicle comes with a comprehensive history file including original brochures, price list, receipts of work done and a full keeper history log. Early examples in good condition of this first generation of four door models are now difficult to find, most especially in this attractive colour combination and so this is an opportunity for an enthusiast to acquire a classic that is likely set to continue to appreciate in value.
The present owner now wishes to find a new custodian that will continue to preserve, enhance and enjoy the vehicle for many years to come.
