Description

In the aftermath of World War II, as Britain recovered from war damage and economic challenges, a car emerged that served not only as a means of transport, but also a symbol of British resolve: the Land Rover Series 1.

Born in 1948 from the brilliant mind of Maurice Wilks, a genius at Rover Company, the Land Rover Series 1 was inspired by his adventures with American Jeeps during the war. He had a vision: to develop a car that was suitable for farming as well as adventurous off-road driving. The very first Series 1 prototypes were assembled by hand and a lot of love on the picturesque island of Anglesey in Wales.

The Series 1 was as simple and sturdy as an English breakfast on the broke Saturday morning. It had a ladder-frame chassis that even London Bridge would envy, and a 1.6-litre petrol engine stronger than the will of a British queen queuing for the throne. This car could handle any terrain, from muddy fields to mountainous trails. It was not for nothing that the Series 1 quickly became popular with explorers, farmers, aid organisations and even the British army.

Our version of the Land Rover Series 1 has been given a completely new 'barbour' coat, fully restored from head to toe. By enthusiasts, for enthusiasts. Whether you want to tear along the challenging dirt tracks of your uncle's heritage, or prepare for a Sunday hunting party with enough room for the whole family, including fresh game, corgis and a potato in the exhaust - this Land Rover can do it all. With the right flair.

The Cool Classic Club is here to answer all your questions and help you out, even if you just want to know where to get the best 'cup of tea'. Will we see you soon?
