Describing the new design, Ian Callum stated “it is paired down to a level of necessity and understatement. At the heart of its story is its performance, style and capability, and a design integral to the engineering elements”.

The new car caused quite a stir at the show with Callum confirming “we are well into double figures for orders of the car. The team and I are delighted; it shows the power of events such as Concours on Savile Row, which allows the public and potential buyers to get up close and personal with what is on show.”

While Savile Row is famous for its tailored suits, it also known for its connection to one of the greatest rock bands of all time. The Beatles, through their multimedia entity Apple Corps, acquired No 3 Savile Row in July 1968, converting the basement into a recording studio. It was therefore very fitting to have a recreation of John Lennon’s famous psychedelic 1965 Rolls-Royce Phantom V, parked right outside No 3 Savile Row. Lennon ordered the unique paint scheme in 1967 with the car delivered just before the release of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. The original Rolls-Royce Phantom V is on display at the Royal British Columbia Museum in Canada.

Continuing with the rock and roll theme at this years show was the very special display of the 1939 Lagonda LG6 Rapide, which was owned by Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts. His rare Lagonda has not been seen in public for over 40 years.

Despite the fact that Watts didn’t know how to drive, he none the less acquired an impressive collection of fine automobiles and enjoyed being driven around in them when not on touring duties with the Rolling Stones.

Also very much in keeping with the bespoke tailoring services offered on Savile Row, was the equally bespoke 2024 Touring Arese RH95. This striking example of handcrafted Italian coachbuilding is the creation of Carrozzerria Touring Superleggera, one of the most famous names in car design.

Powered by a mighty 670BHP Ferrari V8 engine, each Touring Arese takes approximately 6 months to build. Like with ordering a handsome tailored suit, Carrozzerria Touring Superleggera customers are able to customise the Arese to their exacting requirements.

Another Italian legend that took pride of place on the red carpet was the beautiful Bizzarrini 5300 Corsa GT. Originally created by the engineering maestro Giotto Bizzarrini in the 1960s, this example is a new 2024 recreation of the legendary race car. The Revival series is a Continuation of Giotto Bizzarrini’s original design, with each new 5300 built to the exact blueprints of the original cars.

Now in its third year it is safe to say that Concours on Savile Row is a must add to the automotive event calendar and Dyler is already looking forward to 2025. Commenting on this years show, Jenny Casebourne, Head of Portfolio at The Pollen Estate (which manages much of Savile Row), said: “The Pollen Estate is delighted that Concours on Savile Row has returned for a third year. Savile Row is London’s iconic destination renowned for tailoring, craftsmanship and style. We are excited to see the new collaborations and the synergies with the car manufacturers come to life. The event is a fantastic opportunity for visitors to go inside the tailoring houses and meet the individual tailors, as well as experience the expertise and craft behind a bespoke suit first-hand.
