We all can agree that all-wheel drive provides security and the ability to endure any weather. It's very important if you live in a country where you can experience all four seasons. Well, you know, a place where one day you can enjoy sunlight, and another will surprise you with rain or even snow.
But we all know that, if you want to have fun, especially in a supercar, you need rear-wheel-drive configuration.
For your and our joy, Audi Sport division surprised us with a new Audi R8 version which has a glorious V10 engine and rear-wheel drive. How perfect is that?
Unlike the Audi R8 RWD version, which was a limited edition model, this one is a production-series model. So, if you want to buy it, you don't need to rush and worry about the limited number of units, and that's a good thing.
Another good change is a visual update on the outside. Rear-wheel driven Audi R8 has a new front splitter, air inlets, and air outlet grille. Moreover, the diffuser has moved upwards and incorporated two oval tailpipes.
As standard, it rides on 19-inch forged wheels, but it can be had with 20-inch rims as well.
And now – THE most important part. 5.2-litre naturally aspirated V10. It develops 540 brake horsepower and 540 Nm of torque.
This V10 will be paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, which in Audi family is better known as S-Tronic.
Naturally aspirated engine and quickly gear shifting gearbox will rocket Audi R8 Coupe to 100 km/h in 3,7 seconds. And, if you live in Germany near derestricted autobahn, you will be happy to know that the car can reach 320 km/h top speed.
It will be available in Coupe and Spyder body styles.
Sales of this model will start early next year.
At least in Germany, it will be priced from €144,000 for Coupe version, and €157,000 for Spyder.
