A Must Know Brand for Car Enthusiast – Porsche Design

Paulius S.

A true car enthusiast takes care about his vehicle as well as other stuff as clothes, accessories and even home. It is not an easy task to get dressed up if you‘re a Pagani fan, however the thing gets very simple if you like Porsche.

Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, the grandson of Ferdinand Porsche and the creator of legendary 911 silhouette, established a Porsche design studio in 1972. He quit the car industry and wanted to design more things than just vehicles. He succeeded, but did not come far away from the industry he was actually born in.

When talking about the design of the legendary 911, F. A. Porsche once said that he “wanted to create an absolutely neutral car. The car was to express power and speed even in the standstill. A modern, but not a trendy car”. The same principle has been used in whole Porsche Design era. “If you analyze the function of an object, its form often becomes obvious” – has told the well known designer.

Porsche Design is a brand which car enthusiasts best know as a logo on t-shirts and watches. As well as a logo on pens, bags, wallets, suits and even dresses. On the other hand, not everybody knows that Porsche Design home collection can offer a knife, a candle, a tea set and even a shisha. As designed by Porsche, an aluminium shisha costs a lot as well – €1 550.

It is well known for Driver’s selection wear, created in team with Martini racing. But in the world of designers the name F. A. Porsche Studio is known as well as 911.

The company, created by F. A. Porsche and located in beautiful tourist destination in Austria, Zell am See, has created designs for many brands, including very popular and extremely rare products. For example, Porsche Design has created a flacon design for Sebamed shampoo. A top place in company’s portfolio is reserved for Veuve Cliquet champagne refrigerator “Vertical limit”, which has been produced in just 15 units, each sold for up to €100 000. There are many more examples of brands which have Porsche Design logo on their product labels: Coca-Cola, Siemens, BlackBerry, Johnnie Walker, Lufthansa, etc. The designers can even create a prototype of your unique kitchen.

Design studio did not come far from car industry, despite the works with Porsche car brand. Many of its products are recognizable not only because of Porsche in name, but for their form and function. The F. A. Porsche studio even projected a 57 floor tower in Miami with a glass elevator which can lift the owner’s car into his apartment. The thing every car enthusiast would love to have in his home. Just wait till 2018, when the tower is going to be opened.
